Job Description
  1. Role Overview:

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for developing, managing, and growing strategic retail and distributor accounts in Hong Kong, with a strong focus on confectionery, snacks, and impulse-purchase categories . The ideal candidate possesses established relationships within key channels—such as supermarkets, convenience stores, drugstores, travel retail, and e-commerce—and has a proven track record of driving sales, negotiating trade terms, and executing category-driving activations.

2. Key Responsibilities:

Account Management & Business Development

  • Manage key retail, wholesale, and distributor accounts across Hong Kong, including international chains, local supermarkets, convenience stores, CVS, and specialty retailers.

  • Identify growth opportunities and develop strategic plans to expand distribution, visibility, and market share within confectionery and impulse buying categories.

  • Lead annual business planning, joint business plans (JBP), and quarterly reviews with major accounts.

Sales & Negotiation

  • Drive sales targets, profitability, and volume objectives.

  • Negotiate trading terms, pricing, promotions, listings, and shelf space improvements.

  • Monitor sales performance, forecast demand, and ensure timely delivery and replenishment Category & Market Expertise

    • Leverage strong understanding of the confectionery, chocolate, gum, candy, and impulse purchase market in Hong Kong.

    • Conduct competitor analysis, category performance assessment, and consumer insights to guide marketing and sales strategies.

    • Collaborate with marketing teams to execute in-store activation, promotions, POSM, and seasonal campaigns (e.g., CNY, Mid-Autumn, Christmas).

Relationship Management

  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with buyers, category managers, merchandisers, and distributor partners.

  • Develop strong internal cross-functional alignment with trade marketing, logistics, finance, and supply chain.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure accurate sales reporting, forecasting, contract management, and budget tracking.

  • Monitor trade spend efficiency and ROI of promotional activities.

3.Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of sales/account management experience in FMCG , ideally in confectionery, snacks, beverages, or other impulse categories.

  • Existing network of retail buyer and distributor contacts in Hong Kong is highly preferred.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Analytical mindset with experience in sales forecasting, data interpretation, and category management tools.

  • Proactive, commercially driven, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
