CLUB DE RECREIO, a sports club with a rich historical background, has been dedicated to providing diverse sports and recreational activities for members of different nationalities since its establishment on November 27, 1911. The club was originally a recreational center serving the Portuguese community, but with the changes in Hong Kong's economic, social, and political environment, it opened its membership to all nationalities in 1968 and has since become an international club with diverse ethnic backgrounds and strong brotherhood. The club offers a wide variety of sports and recreational services, including badminton, bridge, field hockey, grass bowling, tennis, and field hockey, and also has restaurants and bars to meet members' social needs. In addition, the club's building, due to its long history, has been listed as a third-level historical building by the Antiquities Office of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, becoming an important cultural heritage in Hong Kong. From serving the Portuguese community at the beginning to developing into an international multi-cultural sports club, Club de Recreio has witnessed the changes and development of Hong Kong over the past century. The club is not only a gathering place for sports enthusiasts, but also an important venue for promoting cross-cultural exchange and understanding.
