We are looking for Data Scientists and AI Developer interns who can commit to a minimum of 3 months for our 2026 Data Scientist Internship/Co-op for either our Winter term January-April or Summer term May-Aug. This position is based in Science Park, Hong Kong with the opportunity to work in a hybrid arrangement.
As a Data Scientist I, you will:
- Use machine learning and advanced statistics to help build innovative solutions for real-life customer and business problems
- Transform complex datasets into meaningful conclusions and recommendations
- Grow alongside a diverse team of world-class experts in data science, software engineering, actuarial science, business, and design
- Collaborate with our teams in HK & Canada to share knowledge, learnings, and tools
- Skills required: Python, NLP/LLM
- Familiar with our tech stack: scikit-learn, xgboost, pytorch, tensorflow, LightGBM, pandas, etc.,
As an AI Developer I, you will:
- Work with data scientists to build machine learning and advanced statistics into software applications for real-life customer and business problems
- Navigate differing opinions, ambiguity, and requirements to build and advocate designs with clear objectives and trade-offs
- Write well-designed, efficient code that can be tested, again and again
- Grow alongside a diverse team of world-class experts in data science, software engineering, actuarial science, business, and design
- Collaborate with our teams in HK & Canada to share knowledge, learnings, and tools
- Skills required: Python or other language such as Java, C++, C#, etc
- Familiar with our tech stack: Flask, MongoDB, Kafka, AWS Cloud, Terraform, Vue.js, Snowflake
Here’s what you bring to the table:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, science, engineering, statistics, AI, computer science or a related field.
- Available to work with us full-time, 37.5 hours per week, for the Winter 2026 term (January to April)or Summer 2026 term (May to August)
- Must be an active student during your internship and/or returning to school following your internship.
- Relevant experience in predictive modelling, machine learning and advanced statistics solving business problems is an asset
- Unlimited curiosity and a passion to challenge the status quo
- Ability to focus on vaguely defined issues requiring the application of a creative approach
- Excellent communication, organization and a collaborative attitude
