Postdoctoral Fellow & Research Assistant

<p>Prof. Kai Fung CHAN's group from Chow Yuk Ho Technology Centre for Innovative Medicine, The Chinese Univerisity of Hong Kong, is an interdisciplinary research team that focuses on medical robotics technology at small scales. We are currently looking for Postdoctoral Fellow(s), Engineer(s), Research Assistant(s) and PhD Students in the direction of Miniature Surgical Tools and medical miniature robotics. We focus on development of new endoscopic/laparoscopic surgical tools and miniaturization of the developed robotic surgical tools for minimally invasive surgery. Our group has tight collaboration with the Department of Surgery in CUHK and the Multi-scale Medical Robotics Center in Science Park.</p> <p></p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>The appointee(s) will be responsible to assist the research team for</p> <p></p> <p>(a) Design and development of endoscopic/laparoscopic surgical tools and the robotic system;</p> <p>(b) Structural optimization and miniaturization of the surgical tools and system;</p> <p>(c) Fabrication of the prototypes, and their performance and safety testing;</p> <p>(d) Performing tests and experiments in campus and clinical sites. He/she will work collaboratively with other research staff and students in both the engineering team and the biological experiment team.</p> <p>(e) Undertaking other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the research team.</p> <p><br>The appointee(s) will work with the research team and clinical collaborators for further R&D of the technology and clinical trials.</p> <p></p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or other related disciplines.<br>Experience in development of robotic system, surgical tools, fabrication of miniature devices/tools, and/or related industrial experience will be advantageous.<br>Good track record of high-quality research/ project; and<br>Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.<br></p> <p>Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
