We are seeking a creative and energetic English tutor for a mainland China-based business owner. The primary goal is to build practical English skills through joyful, engaging sessions—no rigid textbook-based learning. Instead, we want lessons that feel like lively exchanges, tailored to real-life needs and personal interests.
What You’ll Do
Design and lead 1:1 English lessons (frequency flexible, 3-5 times/week) focused on practical communication—think business conversations, daily interactions, travel scenarios, or discussing hobbies (e.g., sports, movies, tech).
Keep lessons fun and dynamic: Use role-plays, games, real-life videos/clips, news snippets, or even pop culture references (music, shows) to make learning feel natural, not forced.
Adapt to the student’s pace and interests: If he loves entrepreneurship, frame lessons around business negotiations or startup talks; if he enjoys travel, practice hotel check-ins or local cuisine chats.
Focus on fluency over perfection: Encourage confident speaking, with gentle corrections to improve accuracy without killing the mood.
Track progress informally (no stressful tests!) and adjust lesson plans based on what’s working (or what he’s excited about).
What We’re Looking For
Native or near-native English proficiency (clear pronunciation, natural conversational skills).
Experience teaching adults (especially business professionals) is a plus, but enthusiasm and creativity matter more than strict credentials.
A playful, patient attitude: You can turn "learning" into "chatting with a purpose."
Ability to connect with a busy professional: Understand his schedule constraints and keep lessons efficient and enjoyable.
Familiarity with Chinese culture is helpful (to bridge cultural nuances in communication) but not required.
