Operations Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Operation Manager is responsible for ensuring that all freight, warehousing, and transportation activities are executed efficiently, securely, and on time. This role involves the effective allocation of resources, leading the local operations team, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The Operation Manager will oversee fleet utilization, enforce safety standards, and ensure high levels of operational performance and customer service within the Hong Kong logistics framework.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operational Leadership

• Oversee daily logistics operations including freight forwarding, warehousing, and domestic transportation.

• Manage, motivate, and develop the operations team and drivers to achieve a high level of operational performance.

• Ensure all customer pickups and deliveries are completed on time and in a safe, secure environment.

• Process & Fleet Optimization

  • Utilize continuous performance improvement methodologies (e.g., LEAN principles) to identify cost-saving initiatives and productivity enhancements.

  • Oversee fleet utilization, ensuring all assets are in good working order and maintenance issues are addressed promptly.

  • Optimize routing to improve efficiency and maintain strict service level agreements.

• Compliance & Safety

  • Enforce company safety and security standards, ensuring compliance with local Hong Kong Transport Department (TD) regulations and port protocols.

  • Maintain accurate operational records, manage driver logs, and oversee operations payroll inputs.

  • Address operational bottlenecks and resolve supply chain disruptions swiftly.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related operational field.

Minimum 7-10 years of progressive operations experience in the logistics/freight forwarding industry, with direct team management experience.

Strong knowledge of Hong Kong port procedures, warehousing standards, and transport regulations.

Experience with temperature-controlled logistics (reefer) is highly preferred.

Proficiency in English and Cantonese.
