Job Description
Position Summary
The Designer is responsible for supporting the end-to-end design and development process for assigned product (Sweaters, Knits, Wovens) categories, ensuring alignment with the seasonal direction, aesthetic standards, and business objectives set by the U.S. Design Director and CMO. This role will work closely with the U.S. and China teams, as well as cross-functional partners in Merchandising, Product Development, Technical Design, and Production.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the creation of seasonal concepts, trend direction, color palettes, and design ideas based on guidance from the U.S. Design Director.
  2. Produce CAD sketches, line sheets, and detailed design presentations for seasonal reviews.
  3. Conduct market, trend, and competitive research specific to the Hong Kong and Asia markets to inform design recommendations.
  4. Create and update tech packs, ensuring all design details are clear, accurate, and aligned with brand standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  1. Work daily with Hong Kong and China offices to support design execution and troubleshoot development issues.
  2. Communicate design intent clearly to factories, development teams, and sourcing partners.
  3. Support the U.S. Design Director in preparing seasonal design reviews, internal meetings, and product presentations.

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field.
  2. 5-7 years of experience in apparel design (category-specific experience can be added: sweaters/knits/wovens/etc.).
  3. Strong Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD skills.
  4. Strong understanding of garment construction, materials, and product development processes.
  5. Experience working with overseas vendors and factories, particularly in China.
  6. Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  7. Ability to work independently in Hong Kong while collaborating cross-functionally with U.S. partners.
  8. Strong communication skills, including the ability to present clearly and influence across time zones.

Preferred Skills
  1. Experience with PLM systems.
  2. Strong sense of trend, color, and brand storytelling.
  3. Experience supporting multiple categories or working in a fast-paced, multitasking design environment. the creation of seasonal concepts, trend direction, color palettes, and design ideas based on guidance from the U.S. Design Director.
