System Support Engineer (Linux servers, routers, firewall, SAN storage)
Responsibilities:
To provide support and management for all system and network infrastructure components. This includes K8s infrastructure administration, Linux system administration, hardware setup and configuration, performance monitoring and capacity planning.
To provide software support to end-users through problem identification and resolution, escalation of problem to senior management and the system vendors, also to conduct software upgrades and implementations.
To support the telecommunications network for current and future requirements so that a reliable service is provided to our clients to meet the required performance levels.
To evaluate and recommend new technology items that are applicable to the company and incorporate as appropriate in the technology forward plan.
To provide support to our facility services providers on related technical matters.
Requirements:
Degree in computer Engineering, information Technology, computer science, or similar credential, preferred with IT security related certificates, such as CISSP, CISA
Minimum 5 years solid experience of Linux platform and SAN infrastructure administration and experience on performance monitoring and tuning.
Preferably with hands-on experience on system and network security – firewall, intrusion detection system, and data encryption products.
Working experience in VMWare ESX/ESXi/KVM/Docker/SAN, K8s, DNS and Linux platform is required.
Holder of Microsoft, Linux, Kubernetes, any cloud or Server management will be a plus.
Knowledge in Web and internet technologies, and experience in web application development and programming are added advantages.
Project management experience can be bonus.
Stable, proactive, good interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skill, able to work independently and under pressure.
