Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Assist senior chefs in food preparation, including chopping, peeling, marinating, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
Support plating and presentation of dishes under the guidance of the chef de partie or sous chef.
Monitor stock levels of pantry items and report shortages or spoilage to kitchen supervisors promptly.
Participate in daily mise en place, prep lists, and post-service cleaning routines as assigned.

Requirements

Completed formal culinary training or equivalent vocational qualification; apprenticeship experience is highly valued.
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety practices (e.g., HACCP principles), and kitchen terminology.
Ability to follow instructions accurately, work efficiently under pressure, and adapt to fast-paced service environments.
Strong teamwork orientation with willingness to learn, take feedback constructively, and support colleagues across kitchen sections.
Valid food handler certification and right to work in the country of employment are mandatory.
