System Analyst (AML System)

Job Purpose:

To design, support, and enhance application systems—primarily focusing on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) modules and their integration with other core insurance systems—ensuring compliance, efficiency, and maintainability within budget and timeline.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the analysis, design, and support of AML-related modules and their integration with upstream and downstream systems (e.g., policy administration, customer onboarding, payment systems).
• Collaborate with BA, users and compliance teams to gather requirements and resolve issues related to AML workflows and regulatory obligations.
• Ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability to support AML screening, transaction monitoring, and reporting.
• Prepare system and program specifications that reflect AML compliance needs and integration touchpoints.
• Maintain high-quality system design and development standards across AML and related modules.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely delivery and support.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members on AML systems and integration best practices.
• Perform detailed system analysis, system design and system effort estimation.
• Perform problem solving to support and maintain the application systems.
• Write system specification and program specification according to all confirmed specification and/ or user requirements.
• Develop application system to meet user requirements.
• Maintain quality system design and programming according to system development standards.
• Ensure that application system developed is efficient and easily maintainable.
• Maintain good communication and co-ordination with team members, Application Systems Department colleagues and users.
• Train Subordinates on the necessary knowledge and skills in order to complete their tasks.
• Supervise Subordinates to perform the assigned tasks with efficiency.

Requirements:

• Higher diploma or above in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines
• 6-8 years’ relevant working experience in application analysis, application design, application development and implementation
• Proficiency in insurance industry would be an advantage
• Experience in AML modules and their integration within insurance systems is highly preferable
• Proficiency in JAVA, J2EE, Servlet and knowledge in framework (e.g. Spring/Struts/Hibernate)
• Proficiency in web-based/API-based/development with web (JSP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, XML, JSON, jQuery)
• Knowledgeable in .NET (e.g. C#) and Crystal report is a plus
• Proficiency in Oracle, PL/SQL
• Strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills
