Job Summary
Scientific Affairs Manager, Asia acts as a trusted and credible voice of Hill’s nutritional science and expertise across Asia. Reporting directly to the Professional Veterinary Affairs Director Asia, this role will provide customer, student and KTL education in alignment with the regional strategy and Brand Experience Plan. This role will collaborate with Marketing to ensure the technical accuracy and relevance of customer-facing materials and programs, in alignment with BGP and BEPs and taking an omni-demand generation approach. Leveraging the Global PVA strategy and adapting for regional needs, the Scientific Affairs Manager will foster relationships with regional KTLs to build trust and advocacy. This role will ensure that Hill’s commercial team members are well trained to communicate Hill’s scientific and product superiority in a disease-centric way, creating a competitive commercial advantage. An important part of the role will be supporting the Asia region vet school strategy by providing education and top to top KTL engagement across the region to build BRUT with vet students and within veterinary teaching hospitals.
Task
30% Internal Education:
Collaborate with marketing to support product launches and upgrades by providing internal technical training for Hill’s team members.
Create and lead an annual education plan for PVA team members, aligned with the Asia strategy and commercial grid to ensure high technical competency of the team and ability to be a trusted partner for customers.
Act as the voice of the veterinary profession to regional counterparts in marketing and customer development to ensure that the regional team is ahead of Asia industry trends, emerging research and competitor claims/products.
Define internal education KPIs and monitor to ensure continued improvement in Hill’s team members' technical knowledge.
50% External Education & Technical Marketing:
Collaborate with regional marketing to ensure that assets are relevant to professionals across Asia, technically accurate and aligned with current veterinary industry medical standards.
Partner with the Marketing, CD and regulatory teams to ensure all regional campaigns are aligned with the local regulatory and professional environment.
Support localization of global materials (when necessary) to ensure that clinical evidence including case studies have local relevance.
Act as the nutrition subject matter expert, providing lectures for strategic customers including corporate groups, vet schools, vet nurses and recent grads to drive trust and recommendations.
Provide appointment-based vet to vet case consultations for complex nutritional inquiries as a value-add service that builds trust with clinicians and builds Hill’s credibility within Asia.
20% Regional KTL Management & Engagement:
Identify & build relationships and trust with a network of credible and respected regional Key Thought Leaders.
Leverage subject matter expertise to engage with KTLs to increase awareness of the importance of nutrition and build trust & advocacy.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Education/ Experience
Board certification (ACVIM, ECVCN) or PhD degree in small animal clinical nutrition strongly preferred
Experience working in academia is preferred
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent graduate degree in veterinary medicine
Minimum of 3 years of experience in small animal veterinary practice
Experience in Pet food Business preferred
Experience in Hill’s/Pet food Business will be preferred
Experience with teaching or training in veterinary medicine
