Japanese Speaking Assistant Merchandiser – Garment industry [Ref: YTM253]

Our client, a Japanese garment manufacturer is looking for a motivated Assistant Merchandiser to support product development, vendor coordination, and order management across Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities

• Manage product sourcing, development, evaluation, and costing negotiations with vendors

• Coordinate customer orders and ensure smooth follow‑up from placement to delivery

• Work closely with suppliers to oversee production schedules and quality standards

• Conduct factory inspections and report on product quality

• Assist the Manager with ad hoc projects and operational support

Requirements

• Higher Diploma or above

• Strong command of Japanese (JLPT N1/N2), plus proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; organized, patient, and proactive

• Competent in PC applications and office software

• Willing to travel once per month within China and Asia Pacific

• Candidates without experience but fluent in Japanese and keen to join the garment field are encouraged to apply
