Jockey room assistant

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of the jockeys' rest room and related areas at the Sha Tin Racecourse in Hong Kong, including the changing room, shower room, rest area and office space

• Prepare and organize jockeys' necessary supplies, such as towels, athletic clothing, personal care items, and training accessories, to ensure they are complete and orderly for use

• Assist in handling jockey room internal documents, communication and simple administrative support work, such as registering entry and exit records, transmitting race information or notifications

• On Saturday and Sunday race days, we will support temporary tasks according to the needs of the site, including guiding jockeys, coordinating the allocation of supplies and responding to emergencies

• Follow the horse track safety guidelines and animal welfare instructions, maintain good communication with jockeys, trainers and track staff, and together maintain a professional and efficient work environment

Work requirements

• Have basic Cantonese communication skills, be able to clearly understand instructions and proactively respond to colleagues and jockeys’ needs

• Good health and fitness, able to adapt to standing work and light physical labor, including moving cleaning tools, sorting clothes and continuous walking and inspection

• Responsibility and attention to detail, emphasizing cleanliness and order, and service quality, able to independently complete daily responsibilities and actively discover improvement space

• Accept shift arrangements, must be on duty from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays, with time management and adaptability to flexible work hours
