Assistant Manager, System Operations & Maintenance

A leading telecommunications group is seeking a capable Assistant Manager, System Operations & Maintenance to join its IT & Digital Intelligence team. This role focuses on overseeing the planning, deployment, and continuous enhancement of enterprise IT platforms and services to support a reliable, intelligent and secure digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic planning and rollout of IT PaaS resource pools, manage SaaS-layer application operations, establish and refine operational standards, and streamline service delivery workflows.

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of SaaS-layer public applications, while proactively driving improvements in infrastructure capabilities and process efficiency.

• Coordinate the planning and implementation of office IT systems, define routine operational protocols, and develop frameworks for employee account provisioning, access control and VPN security policies.

• Administer Active Directory domain operations and enterprise endpoint devices, execute patch management and vulnerability remediation, and establish rapid incident response procedures for security incidents.

• Manage NGCS and ITSR work order approvals, optimise related processes, and build robust ticketing system standards.

• Champion the adoption of AI-powered intelligent operations for public capacity management, refine operational workflows, and elevate overall management effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline (preferred).

• Professional certifications in IT service management, system operations/maintenance, or information security (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are highly advantageous.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in enterprise IT system operations, maintenance or technical support roles.

• Proficient in at least one programming language (Java, Python, Go, etc.) with proven ability to design, develop and test automation scripts/tools for operations and maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of public capacity systems including CMDB, DNS, SSL certificates, and enterprise email platforms.

• Experienced in security hardening of mainstream servers and operating systems (Linux, Unix, Windows); familiar with virtualization and container technologies (operations, maintenance and planning); capable of writing automation scripts in Shell and Python.

• Skilled in leveraging mainstream AI tools to automate and intelligentise operations and maintenance processes.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-level IT platform as a service (PaaS) resource pool strategy planning and deployment, coordinate SaaS layer application system operations and maintenance management, establish and continuously optimize operation standards and service delivery processes.

• Responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the SaaS layer public application, actively promote infrastructure capability improvement and process efficiency improvement, and ensure system stability and availability.

• Coordinate the planning and implementation of the office IT system, develop regular maintenance and operation agreements, and establish a management framework for employee account configuration, access control, and VPN security policies.

• Manage Active Directory domain environment and corporate endpoints, execute patch management and vulnerability remediation, and establish a rapid response mechanism for security events.

Work requirements

• Computer science, software engineering, information technology or related professional bachelor's degree or above, with ITIL, PMP, etc. IT service management, system maintenance or information security related certifications are particularly desirable.

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience, with at least 3 years of experience in enterprise-level IT system operations, maintenance or technical support position.

• In-depth understanding of public capability systems, including CMDB, DNS, SSL certificates and enterprise email platforms, their operation and management.

• Able to effectively apply mainstream AI tools to achieve automation and intelligence in maintenance processes, with innovative thinking and technical landing ability.
