Product Manager (Risk Control)

Key Responsibilities

• Risk identification & assessment: Identify product, user, operational, and compliance risks; translate them into risk requirements, controls, and mitigations.

• Design risk controls into product features: Define and own risk-control logic in user journeys, authentication/verification flows, permissions, workflows, and exception handling.

• Policy-to-product implementation: Convert compliance/risk policies into product specs, system requirements, and testable acceptance criteria.

• Monitoring & continuous improvement: Track key risk indicators (e.g., fraud/abuse rates, chargebacks, policy violations, incident metrics), investigate causes, and drive corrective actions.

• Release & incident support: Participate in release planning with a risk lens; support incident response, post-mortems, and remediation plans.

• Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with engineering, data science, compliance/legal, and ops teams to ensure controls are effective and maintainable.

Requirements

• Experience in product risk / trust & safety / compliance-oriented products (e.g., fraud prevention, abuse controls, KYC/AML-adjacent workflows, policy enforcement, or regulated product environments).

• Strong product sense and risk thinking: Ability to balance user experience, business goals, and risk controls.

• Data-driven decision making: Experience using analytics/metrics to evaluate risk performance and effectiveness of mitigations.

• Good documentation and communication: Write clear PRDs, risk requirements, and experiment plans; communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.

• Technical collaboration skills: Understand system constraints, event flows, and how product requirements map to backend/engineering work.

• Ownership mindset: Comfortable driving ambiguous problems to closure with measurable outcomes.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to fintech / trading / payments or other high-risk domains.

• Familiarity with risk frameworks (e.g., model risk, rules engine, policy-based enforcement, AML/KYC concepts).

• Experience with A/B testing, feature flags, and experimentation for risk control tuning.
