System Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented System Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s systems infrastructure. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with system administration, troubleshooting, and optimization while working under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and hardware systems.

• Monitor system performance and ensure reliability, uptime, and security standards are met.

• Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and network issues, escalating complex problems to senior engineers as needed.

• Support the deployment of system updates, patches, and backups to minimize downtime and data loss.

• Document system configurations, processes, and procedures for internal reference.

• Collaborate with team members to test and implement new technologies or upgrades.

• Provide technical support to end-users and assist with resolving system-related inquiries.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with virtualization technologies e.g. SmartX, VMware, Hyper-V.

• 4-5 years of experience in system administration or a related technical role

• Cross domain experience e.g. middleware (Nginx, Redis, Kafka, RocketMQ, RabbitMQ), and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etcd).

• Basic understanding of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS).

• Being able to communicate in Mandarin is a big plus.

• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.

• Certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, CCNA, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent are a bonus.
