Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Governance
o Develop and manage the project plan, timeline, and milestones for the Ansible rollout.
o Coordinate with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, application, security, and network) to ensure alignment.
o Define and enforce change management and communication processes.
Stakeholder Management
o Act as the central point of contact for all project stakeholders.
o Prepare and deliver regular status reports, presentations, and updates to leadership.
o Facilitate decision-making across technical and business stakeholders.
Technical Oversight
o Review Ansible playbooks to assess potential impact on servers and network devices.
o Work with technical SMEs to validate configuration changes before rollout.
o Ensure compliance with CIS benchmarks, internal security, and audit requirements.
Testing & Validation
o Coordinate pilot deployments and testing cycles with application and infrastructure teams.
o Ensure rollback procedures and contingency plans are in place.
o Validate results, document lessons learned, and incorporate feedback into future rollouts.
Communication & Training
o Prepare clear announcements and communication for system owners and end users.
o Organize training sessions or workshops to upskill IT teams on Ansible processes.
o Document standard operating procedures for long-term operational adoption.
Risk & Issue Management
o Identify, track, and mitigate risks related to configuration changes and automation.
o Escalate and resolve technical or business issues that arise during rollout.
o Monitor compliance and security posture after deployment.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience as an IT Project Manager in infrastructure automation or configuration management projects.
· Strong knowledge of Linux, Windows, and network device administration.
· Familiarity with Ansible, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and DevOps principles.
· Ability to read and interpret Ansible playbooks (YAML, Jinja2 templates) and understand their server/network impact.
· Experience coordinating application teams and managing dependencies across IT silos.
· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and reporting skills.
· ITIL, PMP, or Agile certifications preferred.
· Hands-on technical background in systems administration, DevOps, or IT infrastructure engineering is highly desirable.
