Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop novel electronic solutions to meet design requirements and resolve product challenges in surgical robotics.

  • Research and evaluate new technologies, components, and manufacturing processes to enhance product functionality and cost-effectiveness.

  • Design, simulate, and test electronic circuits and PCB layouts, ensuring compliance with functional, safety, cost, reliability, and aesthetic standards.

  • Oversee prototype PCB assembly and generate comprehensive documentation to support efficient and high-quality manufacturing.

  • Design and validate cable looms and harnesses for integration into surgical robotic systems.

  • Execute verification and validation testing of electronics and integrated systems, with detailed technical reporting.

  • Provide electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) solutions and coordinate with external test facilities to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to address technical issues and maintain a stable component supply chain.

  • Continuously improve design and development processes in alignment with quality management system (QMS) requirements.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic design and development, preferably in medical devices or robotics.

  • Strong background in circuit design, PCB layout, and prototyping using tools such as Altium Designer.

  • Experience with embedded systems, firmware development, and real-time operating systems (RTOS); embedded Linux is a plus.

  • Familiarity with EMC compliance and medical device regulatory standards.

  • Clinical experience or exposure to surgical environments is highly desirable.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin).

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier engagement, testing, or clinical collaboration.
