Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Develop novel electronic solutions to meet design requirements and resolve product challenges in surgical robotics.
Research and evaluate new technologies, components, and manufacturing processes to enhance product functionality and cost-effectiveness.
Design, simulate, and test electronic circuits and PCB layouts, ensuring compliance with functional, safety, cost, reliability, and aesthetic standards.
Oversee prototype PCB assembly and generate comprehensive documentation to support efficient and high-quality manufacturing.
Design and validate cable looms and harnesses for integration into surgical robotic systems.
Execute verification and validation testing of electronics and integrated systems, with detailed technical reporting.
Provide electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) solutions and coordinate with external test facilities to ensure regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with suppliers and procurement teams to address technical issues and maintain a stable component supply chain.
Continuously improve design and development processes in alignment with quality management system (QMS) requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic design and development, preferably in medical devices or robotics.
Strong background in circuit design, PCB layout, and prototyping using tools such as Altium Designer.
Experience with embedded systems, firmware development, and real-time operating systems (RTOS); embedded Linux is a plus.
Familiarity with EMC compliance and medical device regulatory standards.
Clinical experience or exposure to surgical environments is highly desirable.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin).
Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier engagement, testing, or clinical collaboration.
