Compliance Consultant ASS/VP (Insurance Compliance) - Legal & Compliance Department - Corporate Services - Hong Kong

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in identifying and assessing compliance risks in insurance brokerage business:
    Review relevant materials such as customer risk assessment forms and source of wealth statements, identify potential compliance issues, and provide preliminary risk assessments and improvement recommendations based on the company's compliance policies and regulatory requirements.

  2. Assist in executing anti-money laundering screening related to Hong Kong's insurance brokerage and asset management business:
    Participate in customer anti-money laundering risk assessments and conduct basic risk ratings based on customer backgrounds (e.g., nationality, industry, etc.).

  3. Compliance Manual and Policy Review:
    Assist in reviewing the compliance manuals and anti-money laundering policies for the Hong Kong company's licensed businesses (such as insurance brokerage, asset management, and trusts) to ensure they meet the latest regulatory standards.

  4. Maintenance of Customer Due Diligence Records:
    Responsible for the daily maintenance of customer due diligence files, and perform regular updates and reviews in accordance with company policies.

  5. Insurance Authority License Management and Maintenance:
    Assist the company in updating, applying for, maintaining, and renewing Insurance Authority licenses. Manage the daily licensing status and maintenance for licensed individuals.

  6. Internal Compliance Training and Compliance Research Support:
    Assist in organizing and conducting internal compliance training to enhance the team's compliance awareness.
    Assist in conducting compliance research related to the business of licensed corporations and provide preliminary compliance advice and solutions.

Qualifications:

  1. Preference given to candidates who have passed the Insurance Authority-recognized Paper 1 ("Essentials of Insurance") examination.

  2. Familiarity with the relevant regulations and regulatory guidelines of Hong Kong's major financial regulators (such as the Insurance Authority), including but not limited to the Insurance Ordinance, the Code of Conduct for Licensed Insurance Agents, and the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (AMLO).

  3. Three or more years of compliance-related work experience in financial institutions (such as asset and wealth management companies, insurance companies, or professional compliance consulting firms), with familiarity in core processes such as Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and sanctions compliance.

  4. A bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Law, or a related discipline is preferred.

  5. Proficient in using mainstream customer due diligence and screening tools such as World-Check, Qichacha, Tianyancha, etc.

Requirements:

  1. Preference will be given to those who pass the Paper 1 (Foundation Knowledge in Insurance) recognized by the Hong Kong Insurance Regulatory Authority.

  2. Familiar with the relevant regulations and supervisory guidelines of Hong Kong's major financial regulatory agencies (such as the Insurance Authority), such as the Insurance Ordinance, the Code of Conduct for Licensed Insurance Agents, and the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (AMLO), etc.

  3. Three years or more of compliance-related work experience in financial institutions (such as asset and wealth management companies, insurance companies or professional compliance consulting firms), familiar with customer due diligence (CDD), anti-money laundering (AML) and sanctions compliance core processes.

  4. Applicants with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, entrepreneurship, economics, accounting, law or related fields will be given priority.

  5. Proficient in mainstream customer due diligence and screening tools such as World-Check, Qichacha, Tianyancha, etc.
