Job Description

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned General Expansion Manager to spearhead our business development and market expansion initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will focus on identifying and executing growth opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and scaling Qookia's presence in key international markets, particularly in China, Asia and beyond. The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial leader with a proven track record in founding and scaling ventures, leading cross-border acquisitions, and building high-impact teams in dynamic industries. This is a full-time position based in Hong Kong, with frequent travel to support global outreach.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Growth Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive expansion strategies to enter new markets, including Asia-Pacific regions (e.g., China, and Southeast Asia), by analyzing market trends, competitive landscapes, and user demographics for mobile gaming.

  • Partnerships and Acquisitions: Lead the identification, negotiation, and execution of strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and acquisitions—drawing on experience in high-stakes deals such as international aircraft manufacturing acquisitions—to enhance Qookia's ecosystem, distribution channels, and technological capabilities.

  • Market Entry and Scaling: Oversee the launch and operational scaling of Qookia games in untapped territories, including regulatory compliance, localization, and supply chain optimization, leveraging expertise in founding and growing multi-site operations.

  • Team Leadership and Innovation: Build and mentor cross-functional teams to drive innovation in game distribution and user engagement, while securing certifications and recognitions (e.g., high-tech enterprise status or industry awards) to bolster Qookia's credibility in tech-driven sectors.

  • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for expansion efforts, such as revenue growth, user acquisition rates, and partnership ROI, and provide executive-level insights to align with Qookia's mission of transformative gaming experiences.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Qookia in industry forums, government relations, and investor outreach, utilizing strong networks in business, tech, and social sectors to foster long-term alliances.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Management, or a related field; advanced degrees (e.g., Master's or PhD in Business Administration) preferred.

  • Experience:

    • 15+ years in senior leadership roles, with direct experience founding and scaling companies in high-growth sectors (e.g., aviation, energy, or tech-enabled services).

    • Proven success in international acquisitions and mergers, such as leading teams in cross-border deals valued at multi-million scales.

    • Demonstrated ability to transform and expand operations, including establishing and growing networks of 20+ facilities or centers while achieving national-level tech certifications and pilot program recognitions.

    • Background in tech integration and innovation, including IT systems implementation, regulatory approvals and market turnaround strategies that deliver profitability.

  • Skills:

    • Exceptional negotiation, project management, and cross-cultural communication skills, with fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese.

    • Strategic thinker with a entrepreneurial mindset, experienced in public-private partnerships, government relations (e.g., as a provincial committee member or industry association leader), and securing funding or awards for growth initiatives.

    • Familiarity with digital ecosystems, user-centric product scaling, and emerging technologies (e.g., AI-driven services or smart platforms) to adapt aviation/tech management expertise to mobile gaming expansion.

  • Personal Attributes: Visionary leader with a passion for innovation and social impact; resilient in fast-paced, ambiguous environments; committed to ethical growth and team empowerment.
