Software Engineer (Backend) - Ad Tech Focus

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance systems that power our advertising platform. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to develop reliable, scalable services in a fast‑paced environment where performance and stability are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, APIs, and core platform components

• Build highly scalable and fault‑tolerant systems to handle high‑volume, low‑latency traffic

• Participate in system architecture and technical design discussions

• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and data teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions

• Optimize application performance, database queries, and system reliability

• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code

• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to system improvements

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practice

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend software development

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline

• Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g. Java, Go, Python, or similar)

• Solid understanding of backend fundamentals including RESTful APIs, data structures, and algorithms

• Hands‑on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases

• Familiarity with distributed systems, concurrency, and scalability challenges

• Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure)

• Comfortable working in Linux‑based environments and using version control systems

• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in Ad Tech, Real‑Time Bidding (RTB), or high‑throughput systems

• Experience with message queues, event‑driven architectures, or streaming systems

• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and performance tuning in production system
