Core Responsibilities
Project Development: Proactively identify investment opportunities for Chinese enterprises in Africa (infrastructure, mining, new energy), lead project feasibility analysis and deal structuring.
Debt Syndication Structuring: Design debt financing solutions that comply with China-Africa regulatory frameworks (including coordination with multilateral development banks), lead syndicate formation, risk sharing mechanisms, and cross-border guarantee structures.
M&A and Restructuring: Support Chinese enterprises in M&A/divestiture of Africa-based assets, provide valuation modeling, transaction negotiation, and closing support, and collaborate with law/accounting firms to manage political and compliance risks.
Deepen collaboration mechanisms with Sinosure and the China-Africa Development Fund (CAD Fund), driving innovation in insurance coverage and co-investment models.
Maintain board-level relationships with central and local state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and customize country-specific risk briefings and investment strategies for African markets.
Qualifications
Language: Native Mandarin proficiency; business-level English for negotiations.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in international investment banking / bond issuance / cross-border M&A, with proven track record of leading debt syndication projects in emerging markets.
Client Network: Deep coverage of client resources among China’s central SOEs, local state-owned enterprises, or leading players in energy/infrastructure sectors.
Familiarity with Sinosure’s underwriting processes or CAD Fund’s investment decision-making chain (successful collaboration cases preferred).
Experience in country risk analysis for South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, or other African countries preferred.
