Job Description

Position Overview
Lead the R&D and optimization of AI-Native application products serving millions of users worldwide. This role combines Applied R&D with high-scale systems engineering. You will be responsible for the research, development, and implementation of core AI features—including Agent workflow design, multimodal model integration, cloud testing, and performance optimization. You will drive rapid R&D product iteration based on user data and feedback, while establishing a robust technical infrastructure to support existing consumer products and future enterprise business expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the R&D and implementation of core AI logic, orchestrating complex Agent workflows from initial design and interaction logic to final production deployment.
Drive Applied R&D to solve complex engineering challenges, specifically in multimodal content processing (text/image/document parsing), token cost optimization, and real-time response latency.
Architect and optimize scalable technical infrastructure capable of supporting million-plus user scale, ensuring microservice stability and high availability during peak R&D experimentation and rollout.
Execute high-quality software engineering, conducting rigorous testing, debugging, and continuous optimization of generation quality as part of the R&D lifecycle.
Establish the technical R&D roadmap by tracking and evaluating cutting-edge trends (such as reasoning models, Compound AI Systems, and edge optimization) for potential adoption.
Leverage data analysis to drive R&D iterations, optimizing product features and user experience based on quantitative feedback.
Collaborate with product and business teams to ensure R&D initiatives and technical solutions effectively meet evolving business requirements.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of Software R&D experience, with at least 2 years specialized in AI-driven projects and application development.
Technical Leadership: 5+ years of experience leading teams to deliver complex software solutions in high-growth, high-scale startup environments.
Experience developing SaaS or productivity tool products at million-user scale (demonstrating the ability to transition R&D prototypes into stable, mass-market systems).
Proven track record in 0-to-1 AI Product R&D, having successfully built and launched AI products within startup or high-growth company settings.
Python & AI Infrastructure: Expert proficiency in Python and modern AI R&D frameworks (such as LangGraph and CrewAI). Deep understanding of asynchronous programming and queue management for complex AI tasks.
Advanced LLM Integration: Extensive R&D experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and multimodal model applications.
Cloud & Deployment: Robust skills in RESTful API development and cloud service deployment to support continuous R&D delivery and production rollouts.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced LLM Tuning: Familiar with structured output control and complex task instruction tuning.
AI Unit Economics: Understanding of compute cost modeling and optimization per user.
Engineering Excellence: Strong emphasis on code quality, documentation, and articulating technical concepts.
