JOB TITLE: Senior Operations Manager
OUTLINE:
The Group Senior Operations Manager is to provide advice, guidelines and technical support to ensure school operations are compliant to Harrow Standards, Group policies, local and national regulatory requirements. The Group Senior Operations Manager identifies areas of improvement and, with input from the Group Director of Operations (GDO) to inform strategic objectives and monitors KPI fulfillment by Schools and Service Providers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
School Operations
1. Be familiar with Group Policies, Harrow Standards and local/national regulatory requirements to advise schools on operational matters and provides relevant support.
2. Support schools implement relevant procedures, policies and Operational Management Framework and monitor our operations against requirements and KPIs to ensure operations is safe, compliant and provides a positive and supportive learning environment for our students.
3. Partners with Procurement Manager and support school for school wide projects such as uniform, partners with Group Senior Health & Safety Manager with the implementation of the H&S framework.
Performance and Standards Enhancement
1. Support the Group Management Framework (FM, Catering, Monthly Report, Annual Register) implementation through training, regular catchups, and audits to ensure operational standards and quality from a Group Perspective.
2. Identify areas of enhancement through Monthly Dashboard, audits, schools’ feedback, survey to students and parents to inform strategic objectives and relevant KPIs for Schools and Services Providers.
3. Partner with Group Procurement Manager to factor KPIs in agreements/contracts to secure service providers’ satisfactory performance throughout the contract.
4. Monitor industry trends, best practices to propose new products or replace existing products and services that match and exceed Harrow Standards and provide world-class experience to our students, parents, and staff at cost.
Set up New Schools/Projects
1. Liaise with Group Operations, Construction, Business Development, GA, Admissions & Marketing Team and Education Teams to map out the set-up plan and project manage the successful launch of a new school or project.
2. Partner with Group Procurement Manager, Group Constructor Director and GA to be sure all procurement will be done in phases and based on timelines agreed with all key stakeholders. Equipment, Set-up (Blackbox, lab, auditorium, music rooms etc.) will be set up in compliance with local regulatory requirements, Harrow Standards, Group policies and to fit the educational purposes as endorsed by the Education Team.
Budgetary Responsibilities
1. Assist the set-up budget propose for new schools and manage/track its high efficiency utilisation.
2. Assist the Finance Team and Head Office budget holders with budgeting and forecasts.
3. Review and approve (when appointed) operational budget for existing schools
Sustainability
1. Be the champion of Group Sustainability Initiatives and work with the Group and Schools to implement actions from the Group’s 5-year sustainability plan.
2. Work closely with all AISL schools to monitor their progress and provide support.
3. Research new technological products and services in sustainability, drive their adoption and test the results before widespread use
4. Identify KPIs, actionable items, timeline, budget and resources required for successful implementation of sustainability initiatives, Monitor and report on key sustainability metrics in alignment with Harrow standards and corporation objectives.
Others
1. Any ad hoc tasks or projects assigned by the Group/Director of Operations and COO for Group Operations, new schools and existing schools.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidates with at least 5 years of solid operational and management experience in ESG and sustainability in multiple geographies is highly preferred. Candidates with proven track record in Digital Transformation is a plus.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to implement programs, procedures and systems, manage details, and engage internal/external key stakeholders.
• Strong project management and supervisory experience required; displays the ability to manage strategic operations and influence direct and indirect reports to achieve the outcomes desired.
• Excellent Proficiency in verbal and written communications in both English and Chinese.
• Education: Bachelor's Degree required, a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Work location: based in the Hong Kong office and willing to travel
